American Sign Language I
This course is designed to assist students in developing skills that are necessary in order to communicate with the deaf community. Students will learn how to use complete sentences to describe objects, express likes, dislikes and preferences. They will learn how to follow simple signed instructions and develop the ability to understand the principal message in signed messages and short conversations. Students will also gain familiarity of the deaf culture, along with various cultural activities.

American Sign Language II
This course is a continuation of American Sign Language I and gives the student continued practice of the communication mode most commonly used by the deaf community in the United States, along with additional knowledge of Deaf culture. Upon completing the course, students will be proficient enough in expressive sign language so as to be able to carry on a conversation with a native signer with some experience conversing with non-native signers.
